Launch of first-of-its-kind benchmarking index on child sexual abuse “Out of the shadows”

Today, Childhood is furthering its reach and impact, with partners the Oak Foundation and Carlson Family Foundation, supporting the development of a new benchmarking tool by The Economist Intelligence Unit “Out of the shadows: shining light on the response to child sexual abuse and exploitation.” The first-of-its-kind benchmarking index covers 40 countries which represent 70% of the world’s children and will help to assess the progress toward reaching the Sustainable Development Goal 16.2 – ending abuse, exploitation, trafficking and all forms of violence against and torture of children by 2030.
