We invest in innovations and spread proven methods. One example is the program Parenting for lifelong health – community-based methods, developed with Childhoods support in South Africa , with the aim to reduce and prevent violence in low-resource settings.
With our extended support the program was scaled up in South Africa and has since expanded as the Global parenting initiative (a collaboration with UNICEF, WHO and universities in South Africa and the UK). Today it covers about 20 low- and middle-income countries in Sub-Sahara Africa, Southeastern Europe, Southeast, Asia and the Caribbean. We are now supporting our partners in Thailand to implement the first phase of this evidence-based program, creating safer relationships between children and parents, and early identification of children at risk.
